Carnivale Series Vessels

The Carnivale Series is a four‑piece exploration of vertical colour‑banding, structural distortion, and controlled graphic framing. Each vessel is formed from stacked palette stripes that twist subtly through the body, creating a continuous upward motion across all variations. The series presents four distinct behaviours within the same palette logic:
Carnivale Overboard — an over slumped variation where the form has tipped past its intended boundary, producing a softened lean and a characterful off‑axis silhouette.
Carnivale Marquee — defined by bold black framing lines that border the colour stripes, giving this variation a strong graphic presence reminiscent of carnival signage and architectural trim.
Carnivale Stilt-walker I — a tall, upright form with clean vertical flow, presenting the palette in its most balanced and uninterrupted posture.
Carnivale Stilt-walker II — the companion to Stilt, slightly taller and more elongated, maintaining the same vertical palette logic with a refined, performer‑like stance.
Each vessel is formed from a carefully constructed blank and fused. After cooling, it is kiln‑formed by placing the blank on a disc mould suspended above the kiln floor and slowly bringing it up to working temperature, allowing heat and gravity to shape the glass. The piece is then annealed, cooled, the rim removed, water‑ground to finish, and etch‑signed.
Variations differ in silhouette, posture, and framing, but share the same chromatic structure, making them suitable for display as a unified set or as individual statement pieces.
